One of my artist friends and former colleague, undergraduate, studied sculptures and postgraduates turned to oil painting major. The main reason for this is that the process of making sculptures is too complicated and requires the participation and division of labor of many people other than artists. The painting is basically done by the artist himself. This shows precisely that among the many categories of contemporary art, perhaps sculpture is one of the most complex and labor-intensive division of production. If we take urban sculpture in public art into account, it will be more difficult to make and install increase.
