《苏六娘》一剧明万历刻本原为日本法政大学教授长泽规矩也的旧藏,原本现藏于日本东京大学东洋文化研究所,此本作为明代潮州民间戏文代表,是研究潮剧地方特色、明代潮州方言重要底本。20世纪50年代张华云在未见明刻本前提下,根据两部在映折子戏《桃花过渡》和《杨子良探亲》、潮州歌册以及民间艺人旧剧目二度创作《苏六娘》,与明刻本情节构成发生置换。目前对于《苏六娘》明刻本版本传承源流、方言语言研究颇见成效,关于《苏六娘》50年代本地域特色、审美视角研究亦复如是,笔者对此作了简单梳理。
