丁志刚,曾用名丁铸铁,笔名管一丁。原籍江苏徐州,1919年5月12日生于山东滕县。1932年考入天津南开中学,“七七事变”后不久转入重庆分校南渝中学(后亦改名为南开中学)。学生时代的丁志刚即热切地追求真理,追求进步,积极投身于抗日救亡活动,并于1938年5月加入了中国共产党。1938年7月丁志刚高中毕业,随即奔赴陕北“抗大”学习,毕业后留校任大队宣传干事、校文工团党支部书记等职。后调至八路军第一纵队鲁迅艺术宣传大队,先后任政治教导员、大队长,转战于晋、鲁两省敌人后方。丁志刚自幼酷爱文学艺术,在艰苦的抗日战争烽火中,为了宣传群众,组织群众,团结自己,打击敌人,他创作了许多生动活泼、战斗性强,为群众喜闻乐见的戏剧、诗歌、小
