果黑顶病是一种生理性病害,果实顶部变黑干腐及维管束坏死是其典型症状。不同品种抗性不同,红象牙和串抗性最强,桂香最易感病。氟化氢溶液浸果诱导试验及组织分析表明,氟化物是黑顶病的直接诱因。氟化物主要来自果园附近的砖厂、陶瓷厂等。
