Acrylate polymer (AC-400) slurries are grouts designed specifically for soil grouting to prevent groundwater and to control the leakage of new monomeric systems for concrete and sewer networks. This slurry was used in 1980 to replace the acrylamide (AM-9) slurry that was sold in 1978 due to its high toxicity. The new slurry is a mixture of acrylate monomers polymerized using a redox initiator system and a small amount of methyldiallylacrylamide as a crosslinking agent. This slurry is about 1% of the AM-9 slurry, which can be grouted with existing equipment and initiated by common triethanolamine (TEA) and ammonium persulfate (AP). The AC-400 slurry is marketed as a 40% solids liquid for soil stabilization and groundwater control with a low viscosity (2 centipoise) permeability (5 × 10 -9 cm / sec) and a gel Coagulation time can be controlled and so on. The working characteristics of the new slurry can be compared with AM-9 and water glass slurry.
