(Issued by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government No. 51 on July 11, 2005) Chapter I General Provisions Article 1 (Purpose and Basis) In order to strengthen the supervision and administration over the distribution activities of collective meals and prevent the occurrence of food poisoning accidents and food-borne diseases, To ensure the health and safety of diners, the present Measures are formulated in accordance with the laws of the “Food Hygiene Law of the People’s Republic of China” and other relevant laws and regulations and in the light of the actual conditions of the municipality.
