本文评述Westwood(2014)的新书《拼写教学:常用策略和最佳练习的应用》。该书前四章从视觉、听觉以及认知三个层面解构熟练拼写能力的知识、技巧和过程;中间三章描写实用的、基于研究的教学策略,特别推荐词汇学习法;最后两章涉及拼写能力的评估和测试。该书提示,要意识到拼写在语言发展中的重要作用、应采用正式教学方法、通过多重途径开展拼写教学。
This article reviews Westwood’s (2014) book, Spelling Instruction: Application of Common Strategies and Best Practices. The first four chapters of the book deconstruct the knowledge, skills, and processes of skilled spelling from the three levels of visual, auditory, and cognitive; the middle three chapters describe practical, research-based teaching strategies, and particularly recommend vocabulary learning; the last two chapters deal with spelling. Ability to evaluate and test. The book suggests that it is important to realize that spelling plays an important role in language development, that formal teaching methods should be used, and that spelling teaching should be conducted through multiple channels.
