为全面评价当前及今后北京市现代化实现程度,并在此基础上提出进一步加快北京市现代化建设进程的对策措施,市发展计划委员会、市政府研究室、市统计局联合组成《北京市现代化指标体系研究》课题组,研究撰写了《北京市现代化评价方法研究》课题报告。该报告全面系统地阐述了现代化的含义,实现现代化的主要指标;建立现代化指标体系的基本原则,现代化指标体系,现代化评价指标体系的数量标准和评价方法;对我市现代化水平进行了总体评价和国内外比较,对2010～2020年北京市现代化发展水平作了预测;提出了我市率先基本实现现代化的对策措施。由于篇幅较长,经课题组同意,我们对该报告进行了节选,分为两部分在本刊八、九两期刊发,简要向读者介绍该报告中现代化指标体系、我市现代化水平总体评价和国内外比较、2010～2020年我市现代化发展水平以及我市率先基本实现现代化的对策措施这些部分的内容。节选内容的题目为编者所加。
