关于杜甫《两当县吴十侍御江上宅》的创作时地,宋以来的旧注多有失误,如赵次公将此诗编于潭州诗内,黄鹤以为是杜甫由秦州至同谷途中道经两当所作,黄生又主张将此诗编于成都诗内等等。当代学者李济阻等又提出此诗为杜甫赴蜀途中访两当所作,其说亦有失误。此诗应为杜甫寓居同谷期间游历栗亭时顺路前往两当所作,杜甫于艰苦困顿之中仍不避路远,坚持前往两当县吴郁故宅表达自己极端愧悔自责之情,体现了他笃于情义的敦厚性格及他人难以企及的高尚情操。
