“完形填空”试题是1985年高考以来的必考题型,它是考查考生是否具有查漏补缺的阅读能力、词汇的综合应用能力和应用跳读形式获得篇章整篇理解的能力。该题型的呈现形式是选用一篇含20个空格(注:1996年至2000年的3+2高考模式的英语考试卷为25个空格)的短文,短文的长度为250～300词,然后给每个空格提供四个选项,要求考生从中选出能填入空白处的最佳答案,使短文得以恢复本来面貌,以求得文章意思连贯通顺,结构严密完整。
The “Complete Clozes” question is an examination question since the 1985 college entrance examination. It examines whether candidates have the ability to read missing information, apply comprehensive vocabulary skills, and apply the skip-reading format to gain the understanding of the entire chapter. The question is presented in the form of an essay containing 20 spaces (Note: The 3+2 college entrance examination from 1996 to 2000 has an English test volume of 25 spaces). The length of the essay is 250 to 300 words. Four options are provided for each space. Candidates are asked to choose the best answer that can fill in the blanks, so that the essay can be restored to its original appearance, so as to obtain the meaning of the article, and the structure is tight and complete.
