法国著名艺术评论家、毕加索博物馆馆长让·克莱尔(Jear Clair)很早就出版了一部书《论美术的现状》(Consi derations sur etet des Beaux-Arts,1993),公开抨击西方先锋(前卫艺术)。 早就想翻译此书,但克莱尔行文动不动就来几句拉丁语,德语、意大利语,夹在本已相当繁复,冗长的句子里,让我有些望而生畏。但眼下这几年,国内对西方先锋(前卫)艺术似乎又有点发烧,着实起了些波澜。西方先锋(前卫)艺术与中国某些标榜“开放”“接轨”的官民机构进入蜜月期。海内外各色“衰年展”(创造力衰竭之谓也)相呼应,一些拙劣模仿、无创造想象力的“中国当代艺术”活动,频有报道。 而克莱尔这本书,对西方先锋(前卫)艺术的理论基础和操作黑幕,进行了酣畅淋漓的揭露。再拖着不译此书,显然将愧对江东父老。何况,啃此等硬骨头,舍我其谁也? 译的过程中,忍不住也想插几句嘴。所以就有作按语的形式。
