The ICIAM Corus Prize, awarded since 1999 and sponsored by the German Association of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, aims to reward internationally recognized young mathematicians under the age of 42 who make outstanding achievements in industrial and applied mathematics. In 2015, the ICIAM Corus Award was awarded to Annalisa Buffa of the Italian Institute of Applied Mathematics and Information Technology to recognize her outstanding contribution to the fundamental breakthrough she has made in computer simulation of esoteric and complex mathematics applied to science and industry. Buffa has made significant contributions in many areas such as scientific computing, applied mathematics, mathematical tools and more.
