在黄瓜生产中,为了促进瓜菜加速生长,部分农民用高浓度的吡效隆浸泡幼瓜,达到“顶花带刺”的效果,满足菜商的一时需要。在洋香瓜和西瓜生产中,为了促进果实膨大,用高浓度的吡效隆处理,导致洋香瓜口感发苦、西瓜后期裂瓜的结果,这是一种不可取的短期行为。因为高浓度的吡效隆对人体有害,可能导致像陕西省周至县用膨大剂(主要成分是吡效隆)处理猕猴桃不好卖的现象;从生产角度考虑,如果用吡效隆处理多个黄瓜后,会导致后期的黄瓜化瓜严重,苦涩的洋香瓜和裂果的西瓜,均会影响后期产量和总体效益。
