Objective To investigate the changes of serum neuron-specific enolase (NSE) concentration in patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage and its relationship with the neurological deficit and the amount of bleeding. Methods Serum NSE concentrations in 46 patients with cerebral hemorrhage and 21 healthy people of similar sex and age were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Neurological deficit assessment by SSS standards, the amount of bleeding to calculate the results of admission CT. Results The serum levels of NSE in patients with cerebral hemorrhage were significantly higher than those in normal controls (P <0.05)
