This article reviews the application of cyclodextrins and their derivatives in the bioanalysis of pharmaceuticals and aims to provide reference for domestic analysts. By reference to recent literature, the authors describe the use of functionalized cyclodextrins for content determination, bioimaging and drug screening, highlighting the advantages of high sensitivity and good selectivity for cyclodextrin-based fluorescence assays; Its derivatives act as an example of effective separation and quantification of enantiomeric impurities in chromatographic stationary relative to drugs, indicating the chiral recognition properties of cyclodextrins; and their developmental trends and application prospects are also expected.
