伟大的“五·四”爱国学生运动爆发前一个月,即1919年4月,时年23岁的许进,在新加坡《新国民日报》上著文《还我河山》,抒发黄炎子孙情浓于血的爱国主义精神。许进从此起步,为之奋斗了一生;从飘泊海外的游子,成为南洋华侨反帝爱国运动的领袖,由资产阶级民主主义者到红军将领的转变,最后为党的崇高事业而英勇献身。
One month prior to the outbreak of the “5.4” patriotic student movement, that is, in April 1919, Xu Jin, aged 23, published a novel entitled “Returning Me to Mountains and Rivers” in Singapore’s “New National Daily” Blood-rich patriotism. Xu Jin started his struggle for the rest of his life. From wandering overseas tourists, he became the leader of the overseas Chinese anti-imperialist patriotic movement in Nanyang, from a bourgeois democrat to a general of the Red Army, and finally gave his heroic dedication to the lofty cause of the party.
