对韩廷顿氏舞蹈症(Huntington’s Disease.缩写为H.D.),迄今尚未有一种令人满意的药物治疗.目前,在欧州盛行用Lioresal治疗H.D.作者报导用此药治疗H.D.15例的结果.本文15例中,舞蹈型11例,少年强直型4例.病人接受Lioresal治疗,自每次5mg每日三次渐增至每次20mg每日三次.病人经过治疗后,3例强直型及4例舞蹈型获得好转,好转程度约达25%.其副作用是很少的,特别在逐渐增量用药时仅有乏力、短暂的皮疹及焦虑各一例.Lioresal是在β-碳原子上有一个对-氯苯基的γ-氨基丁酸的合成物.γ-氨基丁酸本身具有抑制冲动传递的作用.虽然Lioresal的作用机理还不清楚,但是动物试验证明,它能抑制单极突触的冲动和多极突触的传递作用.Lioresal显然不增加动物脑中γ-氯基丁酸的含量,它对大脑作用的范围还不清楚,但它可能是由于中枢的作用机理及通过脊髓的突触起作用.Lioresal能改善患者的步态,减少跌倒的倾向和增加一般的活动性.用药后有3名患者口齿不清明
