The Rat family was the most prestigious work of the American Jewish cartoonist Art Spiegelman and won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature. In this comic book, the author not only portrays the bloody cruelty of the Nazi genocide but gives even more thought to the mental aftereffect caused by the war to survivors and the devastating impact on their post-war life. From the three perspectives of father, mother and narrator, we analyze the psychological trauma and consequences of Holocaust to survivors.
