This clinical conclusion is drawn from a study by Sloan Maternity Hospital here. This shows that overweight and underweight mothers give birth to babies with low birth weight. 294 women were divided into three groups by physicians Barbara Luke and Roy Petrie: underweight, normal weight to mild obesity, moderate to high fat.
