The binding properties of rare earth ions (III) to bovine serum albumin (BSA) were investigated under simulated physiological conditions. The fluorescence spectra showed that Sm and BSA formed a 2.5: 1 complex with a constant constant of 1gk = 11.0 0. Eu and BSA formed 2 .75: 1 complex, the condition constant is 1gk = 12.26.
