China’s packaging industry’s total output soared from 9 billion U.S. dollars in 1993 to 11 billion U.S. dollars. Currently, 60% of China’s import of 600 million U.S. dollars in packaging materials is for the food industry, of which retail packaging has the most potential for development. The 2nd China International Exhibition of Food Processing and Packaging Technology will be held in Beijing from December 4-7, 1996.
