Different metals and reactive oxides show differences in the electrocatalytic activity of oxygen evolution. The oxygen evolution activity of the electrode is determined by its own material factor of the electrocatalyst and the active surface area of the electrode. In this paper, the inherent differences in the electrocatalytic activity of oxygen evolution due to material factors and the correlation between electrocatalytic activity and other relevant physico-chemical parameters of the material are described.
