Briefly summarizes the emergence, development and current status of bionic materials science as well as the scope and methodology of the study. Learning from the self-healing, multi-functional and adaptive features and synthesis of living organisms can not only improve the design and performance of existing materials, but also break through some traditional concepts and have strategic significance for the development of social productivity and the improvement of overall national strength .
