INTRODUCTION 1.1 PURPOSE The information provided in this manual will enable design engineers to more easily meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements for electronic equipment designed by the United States Aviation Administration (FAA). In fact, the intent of this handbook is that aviation safety and punctuality will be favored as long as the electromagnetic compatibility of the equipment is achieved. This design guideline is based on a comprehensive understanding of the types of equipment used by the FAA and the relevant electromagnetic environment in which it must operate. Therefore, these guidelines are the basis for system design necessary to ensure the electromagnetic compatibility of the equipment used by the FAA.
