In recent years, foreign countries have set up a special kind of hospital called “Swimming Hospital” to use swimming to achieve the goal of treating certain diseases. According to a report by Japan’s “Science News”, a “swimming hospital” opened by a university uses a 25-meter-long, 7-lane heated swimming pool to treat patients with kidney disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, allergies, and other endocrine diseases. Teenagers help them to exercise and treat diseases. The hospital’s coach said that swimming is a whole body exercise. Because of the buoyancy in the water, it does not require extra force to support the body when ground exercise. Therefore, it is a very beneficial exercise for chronic diseases. During swimming, the chest and abdomen are under water pressure, and the respiratory muscles are strengthened, and bronchitis and emphysema can also be treated.
