自六十年代以来,国外广泛地应用高速烧咀。其特点是每个烧咀自带燃烧室,能喷出高温、高速的热气流。喷出速度范围为50~300米/秒,烧咀燃烧室容积热强度为(10~100)×10~6千卡/米~3时,燃烧室内压力最大达350—700毫米水柱,燃烧室出口处燃烧完全程度,烧煤气时为95%,烧轻柴油时约70%。高速烧咀按其应用技术可分为二类:即快速加热和强化炉气搅拌。使用高速烧咀使炉气强烈搅拌循环,炉子温差可达±5~±10℃。烧咀喷出的动量愈大,搅拌的效果就愈好。故增加气流速度与质量流量均能改善炉内气体循环,循环倍数(被循环的炉气量与喷出量之比),可在10~200倍范围内变动。进入高速烧咀前的煤气和空气的压力要求比一般烧咀高,并随喷出速度的增加而增大。
