妊娠和哺乳使母体代谢产生一系列适应性反应 ,就骨代谢而言 ,在保护母体骨骼的同时能有足够的矿物质输送给胎儿、婴儿。妊娠期 1,2 5 (OH) 2 维生素D水平增高使母体肠道对钙的吸收增加 ,甲状旁腺素相关肽 (PTHrP)水平升高有益于维持母体胎儿间钙浓度梯度。骨量在妊娠期不一定丢失 ,但是在持续的哺乳期可能降低。若干骨质疏松形式与妊娠和哺乳有关 ,其原因与维生素D缺乏、低钙饮食和甲状旁腺素 (PTH)浓度升高及一些未明的病理因素有关 ,需进一步研究。
