Rock mechanics on the theory of rock fracture research, and mining, petroleum, geology, water conservancy, railways and other industries are closely linked. Preventing and resolving such accidents as roof caving, slope instability and gas explosion caused by rock fracture in these industries is a long-standing problem that Chinese and foreign scientists have long been attacking. On this theory, Xie Heping, a young professor from China University of Mining and Technology, dedicates his dedication. He succeeded in combining damage mechanics with fractal geometry to open up a new field of fractal fracturing research on rock damage. Xie Heping’s theory of fractal rock mechanics has drawn the attention of rock experts from all over the world four years ago. On January 7, 1991, just over 35, Xie Heping preached his “fractal rock mechanics” in fluent English in the lecture hall of the Earth Science Institute of the University of Utah, his unique insight and meticulousness Reasoning, the creative combination of relevant theories, so that participants can not help but praise.
