周公礼乐思想为儒家乐论思想之渊源,两者内里相通,乐之动人,虽可悦耳,更能风心导礼,此为乐与礼相结合之内在逻辑。墨子因非儒而非乐,在其非乐的逻辑中,省却了乐动人心的关键环节,因此,乐在墨子的眼里就变成了只是能发出金石之音的乐器,乐器的制作、演奏、欣赏都是劳民伤财,与民夺利的,这是一种简单而粗暴的逻辑。春秋战国时期,在礼崩乐坏,古乐几近消弭,新声泉涌叠出的背景下,儒家倡乐、墨家非乐显然都没能准确地把握住时代的文化特征,因此他们理想化的治世方略自然也不能起到救时补弊的实际效果。
