高性能计算和网格计算面临的一个挑战就是应用门槛过高。2005年美国国家科学基金会启动了TeraGrid科学网关项目,帮助用户使用科学计算网格TeraGrid,取得了良好成效。2010年8月,美国国防部高性能计算中心也计划建设高性能计算门户网站以帮助用户更好地使用高性能计算资源。类似TeraGrid科学网关的计算服务模式将成为一种潮流。本文分析了美国TeraGrid科学网关的特点和建设经验,为我国推进高性能计算提供了经验参考。
One of the challenges that high-performance computing and grid computing face is the high threshold of application. In 2005, the National Science Foundation launched the TeraGrid Science Gateway Project to help users to use the scientific computing grid TeraGrid and achieved good results. In August 2010, the Defense Department’s High Performance Computing Center also plans to build a high-performance computing portal to help users better use high-performance computing resources. Computing services like the TeraGrid Science Gateway will be a trend. This paper analyzes the characteristics and construction experience of TeraGrid Scientific Gateway in the United States, which provides an empirical reference for our country to promote high performance computing.
