重视农业是世界古代文明民族的普遍思想,中华民族自然也不例外。中国自有文字记载到19世纪中叶这几千年内的思想家,无不重视农业。朱熹虽算不上是特别重农的代表人物,但他对农业的关注与重视却是显而易见的,无论在理论或是实践方面均有所建树,对农业有自己独特的创见与理解。且不说其重农思想对当时抑或现在有什么指导和借鉴作用,但至少是其思想的重要组成部分,对全面认识朱熹、推动朱熹研究的深入有着积极作用。朱熹重农绝不亚于中国古代那些所谓特别重农的 Paying attention to agriculture is a universal thought of the ancient civilizations of the world and the Chinese nation is no exception.
