Objective: To investigate the role of androgens in reproductive regulation. Methods: 2 × 2 factorial design was used to observe the regulation of testosterone (T) and progesterone (P) on the growth and differentiation of endometrial stromal cells in vitro and the interaction between hormones. RESULTS: Testosterone stimulated cell proliferation while promoting differentiation, resulting in increased cell density, swirling growth and small polygonal cells producing PRL. The P + T promote spindle cell growth, cell body becomes coarse, the cells differentiate into decidual cells, PRL secretion increased significantly, but the decidua cells shed quickly. Conclusion: Testosterone has a 3-fold effect on the process of decidualization of endometrial stromal cells. It not only promotes the differentiation of endometrial stromal cells into polygonal cells, but also stimulates cell division and proliferation and regulates the expression of decidual cells Apoptosis. Speculated that the androgen in the body and other hormones balance between the regulation of the normal endometrium to maintain the physiological function and pregnancy is of great significance.
