控制棉花害虫,长期以来以化学防治为主要手段。由于单一使用化学农药,杀伤了自然界的天敌昆虫,生态平衡遭到破坏,原有的害虫不但没有治住,而间发型害虫上升为常发型害虫,次要害虫上升为主要害虫,造成害虫的再猖撅;且由于用药次数增多,用药量加大,提高了成本,降低了生产效益,这种教训在国内外都是很多的。例如:澳大利亚老合棉区,因长期使用有机氯类农药,棉虫抗性大增,在棉花全生育期中,连续喷药50次,都难以控制其为害,而被迫停止种棉。我们农场,有的连队迷信化学农药,棉田不管有虫无虫都定期喷药,棉花全生育期中,喷药10—12次,亩用药费高达19.79
