杀菌剂是指对真菌及细菌有毒的一类物质,它能杀死这些微生物或者抑制它们的生长和萌发,因此就能用来防治这些微生物所引起的植物病害。某些杀菌剂还能防治植物的线虫病。杀菌剂的用途很广,除去喷洒和撒粉以防治气流和雨水传染的病害外,还能用来处理种子和土壤,以防治种子和土壤传染的病害。此外,伤口的处理、果品的贮藏和木材的防腐,都可运用适当的杀菌剂。
Fungicides are substances that are toxic to fungi and bacteria that kill or inhibit their growth and germination and can therefore be used to control plant diseases caused by these microorganisms. Some fungicides can also control plant nematodes. Bactericides are used for a wide range of purposes, in addition to spraying and dusting to combat diseases such as air currents and rainwater, and also for the treatment of seeds and soil to prevent diseases transmitted by seeds and soil.
