文章首先论述了苗族习惯法的四个特点，在此基础上，辩证地分析了苗族习惯法，指出苗族习惯法中的优良传统固然对苗族社区的发展起了很长久的促进作用，但也应同时看到其不利的一面。文章最后认为要努力把习惯法的优秀成果与发展市场经济接轨，通过发展经济、教育和吸收兄弟民族优秀成果，加速苗族的传统习惯法向现代化转型。 First of all, the article discusses the four characteristics of Hmong customary law.
