被中央人才工作协调小组遴选入引进海外高层次人才“千人计划”之一的邓兴旺,他领导的国家作物分子设计中心已经创制出了世界上第一个水稻全基因组芯片。该中心正在开发新一代杂交育种技术,目前已获得数个具有明确育种使用前景的基因;培育出了数个优良的水稻、玉米及棉花新品种。在传统中药的基因改良和综合利用方面取得了可喜的成果,在环境治理相关微生物的研究和应用上也有所突破。
