  Since China launched reform and opening-up in 1978, the country has made remarkable achievements in economic development and improving the living standards of its people. After its economic aggregate multiplied 225 times over the past 40 years, China is now the world’s second largest economy as well as the world’s largest industrial country with the largest foreign exchange reserves and the largest volume of trade in goods. From lagging behind to leading the world economy, China has made amazing miracles in the history of human development, and changes in data tell the story.
