The European Commission approved the combination of peginterferon alfa-2b (PegIntron or Rebetol, manufactured by Schering-Plow Corp.) injection with ribavirin tablets for the treatment of interferon -α plus ribavirin in patients with adult chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection who did not receive a sustained response.
