砷和磷在形成钼杂多酸以及被还原成钼蓝方面的性质甚为接近,加入少量铋盐后,均能形成三元杂多酸,提高了杂多酸中钼原子的氧化还原电位,使得有可能利用较弱的还原剂(抗坏血酸)在室温下还原成钼蓝。北爪英一、黄祖贤、陈晏明等均研究了以砷-锑-钼蓝形式测定砷,但均未涉及到磷的干扰问题,砷必须单独存在或以砷化氢形式蒸馏分离出来才能加以测定。为了准确快速测定钢铁中微量砷,详细研究砷的显色条件和磷、砷共存时的显色规律以及磷干扰的消除方法是必要的。
