Inducible costimulation (ICOS) is an important costimulatory molecule that plays an important role in the proliferation and activation of T cells in the process of Th1 and Th2 effector cells as well as in T / B cell synergy, antibody production And type conversion, all play a crucial role. ICOS is an important factor in the formation of memory B cells in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), which in turn leads to the production of SLE autoantibodies in large quantities. This article reviews the biological characteristics of ICOS and its relationship with SLE.
