We Chinese use punctuation for only half a century of history. There are no punctuation marks in ancient Chinese books. In 1897, Cantonese Wang Bingyi absorbed foreign new punctuation and drafted ten types of punctuation: (reading number) (number of sentence). (No. of Festivals) √ (No. of Sections): (No. of Severed No.) - (Continued No.)! (No. of Sighs)! (No. of Surprises)? (No. of Questions) <> ( Interpretation number). In 1909, Mr. Lu Xun cited the ellipsis and dash.
