对于长寿命高可靠器件体寿命特性的评估,用常规的长期寿命试验是非常困难的,这要耗费大量试验样管,很长的时间,有的甚至来不及做完试验,这种器件就被淘汰了,即使采用截尾试验,要达到一定失效数,也需很长时间。解决这个矛盾的办法是采用加速寿命试验。所谓加速寿命试验就是将待试样管置于高于正常工作的应力水平下进行试验,加快样管的失效过程,缩短试验周期,以便在较短的时间内预测正常应力条件下的寿命特征。加速寿命试验的理论基础实质上是反应率动力学。
