长城是中国人民的骄傲,是中华民族历史悠久的象征。“不到长城非好汉”,已成为激励人们发扬光荣传统,力排万难,努力实现伟大目标的格言和壮语。长城是我国古代伟大的军事工程,东起山海关,西至嘉峪关,蜿蜒12700多里,故以“万里长城”闻名于世。中外游人和许多外国元首,都以登上长城,饱览中华民族这一宏伟建筑和古代文明而感到自豪,并得到极大的心理满足。
