Photography is a very temporal thing, especially in the film age, the square inch of the plane carrying too many emotions and stories, people could not help but carefully dig. The film always gives a sense of exquisite detachment, and I think that’s exactly why the retro appeal of film has been enduring: though in the digital age we were able to see many still film-loving photographers. From pressing the shutter exposure to the darkroom gradually developing, the process is long, but the texture of the picture can bring people back to the past for a while, the whole process is like dialogue with the past. Perhaps this is why people like her.
