Realism in painting is a form of artistic creation. “Realism” is interpreted as “the reproduction of life”. It is the artist’s aesthetic perception through the real world, which realizes the real life and the emotion of the subjective world. The technique is mainly based on realistic and concrete expressions. The term “realism” was familiar to us earlier, whereas “figurative” was a noun that emerged only in the 1960s and 1970s. But sometimes we tend to confuse the realism with the figurative, the concept of which is rather vague. Therefore, the understanding of the real meaning of realism and figurative help us to re-understand the present realist painting. Realistic painting language, which takes the image object as the starting point for the description of “likeness” of natural objects and the minimum standard of the article evaluation, “Truth” used to be the inspiring source of strength for the painters, and once was to contend with the “false” style of the Middle Ages The banner then becomes a common belief and habit and becomes a socially accepted painting guideline.
