二十世纪的西方文论是以反叛和创新为世纪色彩的,各种文学流派也纷至沓来,理论新说不断涌现,在作者、作品、世界、读者四个理论视点上都有相应的理论产生,且流派个性分明。但如果我们仔细地考察各个流派,我们会发现有些流派之间并非完全的沟壑分明,各个流派在自身设限从而形成流派特色以及后来突破局限形成新的流派过程中,各流派在一定程度上存在着借鉴和传承关系。与此同时,传统的文论也并未完全失去自己的价值。相反当我们深入广泛地发展文论的时候,我们看到了传统文论在整个文论世界中的基础而又重要的作用。
