Japan’s surrender is not based on the alliance’s acceptance of Japan’s request to retain the emperor system. It is an unconditional surrender rather than a “conditional surrender.” On the issue of preserving the Japanese Emperor system, the starting point of the alliance is inconsistent with that of Japan. Nor have both sides reached any agreement or contract. The fact after the war shows that the allies have not honored Japan’s will.
