The survey shows that in recent years, the scores of the Chinese college entrance examinations in Shanghai have exceeded 1% of the candidates with a score of 120 or more in 2000 (with a score of 150). In 2001, only 120% of the candidates with a score of 120 or more accounted for only 0.4%. If we raise the standard a little, in 2002 nearly 90,000 candidates scored 130 points or more, only 7 people. Another statistic shows that in some key middle school science classes in Shanghai, the average score of mathematics in the college entrance examination can reach 130 points, and the physical average score can reach 125 points or so. The disparity in liberal arts and sciences in college entrance examinations tells us that there is a phenomenon in which there is a high investment in Chinese language learning and the efficiency of examinations is low, which affects the enthusiasm of high school students in language learning. Therefore, language teaching needs to be embarrassed.
