Dipterocarpaceae plants in the lowland rainforest of the Philippines have important economic and ecological values. In this study, 10 plant species and their population dynamics that were intergrowth in the Arborvitae Linnaeus in Palatine, northeastern Philippine, were investigated. Four tree inventories were carried out on an 8 hm2 fixed plot (1994, 1998, 2004 and 2010). The results showed that although there were differences in the specific leaf area and leaf water content between three groups, the difference of their growth rate, mortality rate and renewal rate with time was not obvious. These changes in plant characters may explain the mechanism of coexistence among the herbaceous species Darunacia. This study helps to increase our understanding of the dynamics of the population of Ranabagin in the Philippines.
