21世纪的中国,必将是地下工程建设迅速发展的时代,地下工程的用途,对我国经济、物资、战略等方面具有积极的意义,同时地下工程具有其独特的特点,例如防磁、隔震、恒温等特点,应用于精密仪器、轻工业等行业。随着地下工程修建技术的迅速发展,大量的工程实践和岩石力学理念,使现代支护理论应运而生,出现了新奥法、挪威法、浅埋暗挖法等工法,从坚硬围岩到软弱含水地层的掘进条件、以及新设备(全液压钻孔台车)的应用、新型爆破器材的研制及爆破技术的研制,都改进着钻爆法的掘进技术。
